Biography

Marsha Bishop became a partner of the firm in 2014.

Marsha Bishop graduated from N.D.S.S. in 1991 and pursued her undergraduate studies at Malaspina University College before entering U.B.C.’s Faculty of Law in 2004. She obtained her bachelor of laws degree from that institution in 2007. Marsha was called to the British Columbia Bar on May 28, 2008 after completing her articling term with Johnston Franklin.

Since her call to the bar, Marsha has been successful in developing a personal injury practice focusing primarily on issues arising out of Car Accidents/Motor Vehicle Collisions. Marsha has extensive experience representing individuals suffering from a wide range of injuries, from simple soft tissue strains to serious orthopedic or brain injuries. She knows how insurance companies like ICBC are likely  to defend against your claim. Marsha takes care in remaining accessible to her clients through a positive approach of proactive communication. If you hire Marsha, she will be eager to learn as much as she can about you and the extent to which your injury has affected the different aspects of your life. Marsha has a range of litigation experience. She enjoys studying the law and being in the courtroom. Marsha will manage your file with a view to maximizing the chances of achieving a fair out-of-court settlement, at the same time gathering all of the evidence needed to take your matter to trial if that becomes necessary. Marsha has successfully run trials of varying complexity such as soft tissue injury cases like Strazza v. Ryder 2012 BCSC 1693 as well as “major loss” actions including the 2013 jury trial on which she was co-counsel. In that case the jury returned a verdict of over 1.3 million dollars.

Marsha was born in Dawson Creek, B.C. and lived in several British Columbia communities throughout her childhood. She maintains a connection with Northern British Columbia and regularly takes on clients from the Peace River Region. She represents clients from a multitude of Vancouver Island communities including Victoria, Duncan, Nanaimo, Comox, Courtenay, Parksville, Qualicum, Port Alberni, Ucluelet, Tofino, Campbell River, Port Hardy and Port McNeill.
